The scientist, Carlos, with his perfect hair and his perfect jaw, looked adorably determined when Cecil opened the door to his sound booth.

"I have come to check for materials." Carlos the scientist said, wielding a box that had lights and wires and beeped at scientifically appropriate intervals. It was... perfectly adorable, and Cecil could not bring himself to bar the way, even if the intrusion might anger Station Management. Weather was playing in the background, and there was at least a few more minutes to go before he was back on air - they were safe, for the moment.

"Material?" Cecil asked, surreptitiously straightening his black plastic poncho, which had become bunched as he sat at his microphone. "I'm very into science, you see." It isn't something he'd known about himself before, but that did not make it any less true now. Past performance, after all, did not predict future results.

"Mmmm." Carlos hummed in a very scientific manner, waving his box around the room in an equally scientific manner. The box also beeped, scientifically.

"I even have a section of my show - Children's Science Corner - it's very popular. Maybe you'd... like to come on the show? Or even have an interview, now? We have the time, and..." Cecil's slightly too-anxious, too-nervous rattle of an offer was cut off abruptly when the arc of Carlos' search pattern brought the box into close proximity to his microphone, and the box beeped in abrupt alarm.

Terror was not an emotion Cecil was unfamiliar with, but it looked unfamiliar on this face, so beautiful, so perfect.

It looked wrong.

"Everyone needs to get out! Get out of the building, this is very dangerous!" Cecil took that to mean that no, there would be no interview today. This was further confirmed as Carlos rushed from the booth, shouting as he went about the danger posed by the building.

The 'on air' light hummed as it lit up again, Weather coming to an end. With a sigh of regret, Cecil straightened his cat-eared headband, and scooted closer to the microphone.

"Welcome back, Listeners..." he purred, slipping back into the rhythm of the show.
